BearTKat

BearTKat is a scanner control application specifically designed to control the Uniden BC250D series of handheld TrunkTracking scanners. Other radios may work if they use the same control protocol, but modification may be required. It is written in Tcl/Tk.

Currently, features include:

• LCD Polling
• Ability to backup and program frequencies, attributes, and alpha tags
• Full front panel control
• Scriptability (in Tcl/Tk)

Planned features are:

• Graphical frequency management
• Activity logging
• Complete control protocol implementation
• Ability to interoperate with E-Scanner and other CSV frequency database files
• Out-of-the-box or pluggable support for other radios

It has been tested on both Unix and Windows. My primary development environments include FreeBSD, Linux, and Windows XP (with ActiveState Tcl). It is designed for Tcl/Tk 8.4, and requires the wcb package (beartkat 0.1 only).

The 0.3 tarball contains the NSI setup scripts I use to build releases for win32.
